And when a file doesn't open, is it happening all the time or sometimes it opens ?
could you provide an example file ? is there something in the activity log ?

No they are all different types of files (all text however). So there does not appear to be a pattern to it.

does all those files have the same extension ? is there something similar in all those files ?

I have just installed JEdit 4.2 (final) and on some files open without any issue. However about 1/3 of the files are opening to blank pages. If I use something like Word or notepad the file opens correctly. But each time I attempt to open them with JEdit I get a blank page. Then once I attempt to close the file I get a BeanShell error It starts java.lang.NullPointerException:Mode must be non-null). This tells me that JEdit thinks the file is empty. However it prevents me from even writing into the file.

Is this a know bug? Is there a workaround for this issue?

Thank you in advance,
