#347 Mac OSX: File menu when no files open

core (195)

Closing the open file in the MacOSX version leaves jEdit with no menu other than the jEdit menu, leaving no menu option to open a new file. Is this a feature or bug? If a feature, I would prefer having a file menu, so I can open another file, please.

Once you click the jEdit dock icon your old perspective should reappear. This is the only way to work around the fact that jEdit is not really a "mac" application since Java will require us a window before we can add a menu.

We would happily accept a patch to the mac plugin.

    Best regards

As scarlac said, this is essentially impossible to fix. Even the official Apple docs say that this behavior can't be replicated in Java. Closing as "Won't Fix".

(Notes: Invisible windows don't show a menu bar, and it's not possible to move a visible window off-screen, so this can't even be faked with a hidden window.)
