J-DAWN Master's thesis released

Today we released our CS Master's thesis about the J-DAWN system. The thesis describes the design and implementation of the system in detail, contains the Job Definition Language grammar, and more information.

It replaces the previously released requirements and design documents.

Jdawn 0.31 released

Today we released the latest version of Jdawn.
Jdawn in an innovative system to create and run internet related jobs.

This versions adds support for external components: Plug-ins that can be added to Jdawn and addressed by the steps that make up a Jdawn job.

Jdawn 0.30 released

Jdawn is an advanced system to graphically build and schedule filtering apps for internet sites.

After a year of more or less private development, we just released version 0.30, the third public release.

This version has a lot of bug fixes and memory leak fixes. New features include global events in the Job Definition Language.

At the moment the project counts approximately 28.000 lines of C++ code. Jdawn uses a plug-in architecture for components that a user can graphically connect. Everyone is invited to submit such components, so we can add them to the public library.

Jdawn 0.29 released

Jdawn is an advanced system to graphically build and schedule filtering apps for internet sites.

After a year of more or less private development, we just released version 0.29, the second public release.

At the moment the project counts approximately 27.000 lines of C++ code. Jdawn uses a plug-in architecture for components that a user can graphically connect. Everyone is invited to submit such components, so we can add them to the public library.

Jdawn design documentation updated

Design documentation of Jdawn version 0.16a.
Describes the architecture, algorithms, concepts, etc relating to the effort of the Jdawn project. This is -not- a user manual.

New in 0.16a:
Added section on external components, updated the scriptRunner section, added an initial section on Conditions & Events.

Updated project homepage

The Jdawn project homepage, located at http://www.liacs.nl/~jdawn has been updated. Among others screenshots and a few example scripts have been added.

Of course, the homepage can also be reached following the link on the sourceforge project page.

Corrected corupted documentation files

By accident the documentation for the 0.28 release had become corupted. Thanks to everyone who pointed this out to me.

Wanted: Plug-in developpers

In Jdawn its possible to graphically connect 'modules' in a dataflow network to create applications (filters).
These modules can be added to Jdawn using a plug-in architecture. We're looking for people who can help build up a library of such modules.

Jdawn 0.28 design documentation public release

To go with the 0.28 release of the jdawn source code, we also released the 0.28 design documentation. In more than 100 pages we describe in detail the software architecture and design decisions made during the initial development effort of the Jdawn project.
