Officially there is no 2.1 release, only 2.0 and 2.2.
Having said that, the 2.2 release has a number of bug fixes in it that aren't in 2.0, it has a new many-to-many association type and improved one-to-many association handling, separation of data providers from the core of the framework, standardisation of class names etc and more.
Obviously it's up to you as to which version to use, however 2.2 is the recommended option and is the one that is being actively supported. 2.0 is not really being supported or fixed anymore.
