Not sure what you mean by "take care of the Socket connection state", so you will have to explain that one a little more for me.

As for the ability to view the socket connection state via JMX, this is not supported.  Only that the invoker has been started or not.  If would like to see this added, submit a feature request in Jira under the JBoss Remoting project (http://jira.jboss.com/jira/secure/BrowseProject.jspa?id=10031) and add a use case for it.
