The customization support in jaxb was not sufficient for handling object/xml mapping in the past. The parsing required of the jboss.xml file is an example. We can sync up on this. It depends when to migrate the SPI. I am hoping to do it in 2.0 that way if we need to modify any part API we still can. I will need about one week after your finish the API and SPI codes. An external mapping file can allow for differences in the xsd->object model if necessary. I could see this if they object model was something more than just dumb data containers, but in parsing deployment descriptors, that's exactly what the object model is. The meta data is just a wrapper of the underlying XML. I guess I am seeing it in terms of 1) Code elimination 2) Ease of use 3) A technology that is already a part of our stack (at least this is what was discussed on one of the R&D conference calls) View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3956396#3956396 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3956396 |

My fundamental problem with jaxb is that is drives the java model from schema/xml and as such has limitations. I want the java object model to be what it needs to be, not fit into something that jaxb can support. As described, two bean factories with extension points in a jboss_5 xml schema makes sense. Shouldn't there be a general container framework in the unified aop/mc project that can be used of the basis of any context requiring a container with aspects and instance control? I converted the *-ds.xml file to a schema represenation (simple conversion using Oxygen, nothing fancy), ran it through the latest xjc compiler, unmarshalled a *-ds.xml document etc, etc. Is there any reason why we shouldn't be using this technology over XB. I can understand for the existing ra.xml stuff since it's already done, but for the ds.xml it would seem to make sense at the very least it would eliminate a lot of code that doesn't do anything besides XML binding which JAXB already provides. I know that we are going to be using the JAXB RI in 5.0 moving forward so IMO we should go ahead and start leveraging this. In many ways, I would be inclined to replace the ResourceAdapterObjectModel factory as well. Hi! I'm pretty sure it's a configuration problem, so plz double-check what URLs are generated for the chart images. It's easy to test if a URL is correct, you just drop it into your browser and you should the image, that's it. Plz note that you can configure the URLs generated by Kosmos-server, by setting a property for the webdav bean in kosmos-services-servlet.xml: | <!-- WebDAV static content store --> | <bean id="webdavStaticContentStore" class="hu.midori.kosmos.server.store.WebdavStaticContentStore"> | <property name="webdavUrl" value="http://localhost:8080/slide/files"/><!-- Both HTTP and HTTPS protocol can be used here. --> | <property name="webdavUser" value=""/> | <property name="webdavPassword" value=""/> | <!-- | This URL will be used as base URL for the generated images. | If you don't specify anything here, the value of "webdavUrl" | will be used. Uncomment this, if you want to override that. | | <property name="clientUrl" value="http://myserver/my-webdav/kosmos-images"/> | --> | </bean> | HTH. The example starts up the "all" config as shown in <server:start name="all"/> in build.xml Your code snippet shows the "default" config being started. Now that the following JIRA issues have been resolved, I want to update the community about XACML Integration with the web and ejb layers. http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-2673 http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBAS-3324 I have the first cut of xacml 2.0 integrated with the web and the ejb layers in jboss 5.0 (Branch: HEAD). There is scope for integration with other layers (on demand). Utilized the Open Source Sun XACML project as the integration foundation (Policy Decision Point). Given this, we basically needed a mechanism to generate the XACML requests, because the parsing of the xacml policy files were taken care of by the foundation(SunXACML). We have a XACMLPolicyModule that can be plugged into the authorization framework and this can take an injected delegate map based on the layers (Resource.WEB and Resource.EJB or whatever). The delegates for the layer are the Policy Enforcement Points (PEP) that take in the information that is provided via the contextual map of the Resource interfacehttp://fisheye.jboss.com/viewrep/JBoss/jbosssx/src/main/org/jboss/security/authorization/Resource.java and build the xacml request. At the current level of integration, an xacml policy file is located by the presence of "jboss-xacml-policy.xml" in the WEB-INF/META-INF of your web/ejb deployment. As always there is scope for improvement and based on advanced user needs, we will work on the xacml layer. In the future, I would like to refactor the layer to provide pluggable PDP. We can't be redeploying the war from destroy service as this should be causing a redeployment infinite recursion when the war is undeployed. Also, we can't be introducing specific logic into only one deployer. The changes to have dependencies trigger redeployments needs to be handled at the system level with changes to the base ServiceController/SubDeployer logic. This is not much of a priority for 4.x since we are redoing the deployers in the jboss5/mc update. Forgot to mention I already had added that property to the build.xml. You can see it on the stdout as part of the classpath (c:\jboss-4.0.4). Andrew, cant this also occur, when messages are actually being delivered, i.e. delivered to outlook, but user forgot to uncheck "remove/delete messages from server" then they would'nt exist in messagedata, but would exist elsewhere? oh, yeah, that looks a little messed up...messagedata is empty, where in it looks like you have actually received about 44 emails as andrew has pointed out, did you mess with the headers in anyway, as I think thats whats in message data, mainly View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3956246#3956246 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3956246 |

Ok. I've submitted a patch via JIRA. Here's the link: http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBMAIL-241 Essentially: If a given mail listner (i.e., JMSMailListener) completely processes a mail, the function contract stipulates that the listener should return 'null'. Unfortunately, not all of the JBCS listeners deal well with a null message, so the MailListenerChainService should detect if a null message is received from any listener. If so, the listener should abort the processing of the remaining listeners. We need to finally think about how we are going to replace standardjboss.xml from the old EJB 2.1 container. One thought that comes to mind is that we define Microcontainer BeanFactories in XML for each container type. We want this standardjboss.xml replacement to be as generic as possible. We do already have the notion of an AOP AspectDomain, but this is really not good enough as we will want to inject things into the EJBContainer like the Timerservice that is being used, the MBeanServer, TM, etc... We also need the ability to define default ActivationSpecs and things like that. With the AspectDomain, you *can* overload/define new annotations in XML, but we need the ability to define generically other configuration items. There has been some work in MC land with JBoss AOP integration. So I'm thinking that one beanfactory definition in XML would also include the aspect domain definition for the template for that type of EJB Container. So, we have to think of how this all wires together. We may need two different beanfactories. One for creating EJBContainers, the other for instantiating EJB instances themselves. The user may want to define their own injections/configuration for EJB instances. For the EJB instances, we may want to extend the jboss.xml schema to allow the extension and definition of a beanfactory for the EJB. Hope this makes sense, let's think and discuss more.
