#2 Why no validation of jboss.xml

No

Currently parsing of the jboss.xml descriptor does not
validate that it conforms to the jboss.dtd file. This
has resulted in a number of user errors reported on
the jboss user mail list that were not caught.
Enclosed is an example well formed jboss.xml that is
not valid because of the ejb child element under
enterprise-beans. This should be either session or
entity. Does it make sense to validate the jboss.xml
files against the jboss.dtd to avoid this?

Yes it does make sense to validate against the DTD.

    Couple of things to note:
    1) make sure the DTD is up to date
    2) validate locally, not over the network

Scott, are you taking this? If you are, please assign yourself to it.
