tmpio2 CVS module available

The draft IO module, tmpio2, is finally uploaded to the CVS repository. Please be aware that this is a temporary module to reach a more stable structure of the classes. Once that structure is settled, the work will move to a new module. This is done to avoid too much clutter in the repository.

New license: LGPL

The project has switched from the GPL to the LGPL license to allow project developers to integrate the functionality in their work. This will further be emphasised by the split of this project into two packages: bookmark IO functionality and the GUI.

Pre release 2 published

The second pre release is out, we'll need to get this no CVS soon, so anybody can both upload and download at any time.

This release features drag out of links, but it only seems to work under Windows. Please notify us if you find other platforms it works on.

Project description

When using various Internet browsers and/or several computers, the user's bookmarks are easily lost or forgotten due to no central storage for bookmarks. Furthermore, the most common browsers, Netscape, Internet Explorer and others, store their bookmarks in very different formats, and although import/export features are avialable, they are usually too restrictive to transfare bookmars back and forth between different browsers. Also, administrating a large set of bookmarks is a daunting task, as websites change, move or dissapear.
