#34 Splash screen won\\\'t load

I got past the config screen, but now it errors out
trying to load the splash screen..

I have suddenly experienced the same, on windows with
defender update 15/08 it seems to dislike the error
messages and temp file creation so I have disabled logging
in config and deleted all previous saved auction data.
jbidwatcher springs to life practically instantly. What an
excellent application.

This support request was unfortunately not auto-assigned to me as it should have been, so I didn't see it until now. :(

I'll be looking to move off of Sourceforge for issue tracking soon, as it's not working out very well.
