This version is a bugfix release for the major 1.0 release late last year. I am pleased to announce that JBidwatcher 0.9.5 is now available for download. This is a major revision, adding SSL support (mandatory for eBay's new login process), supporting loading auctions from My eBay, several improvements in the user interface, and a lot of tuning for performance and memory usage.

JBidWatcher is a java-based auction site (eBay, etc.) bidding, sniping and auction management tool. Version 0.9.2 is a mandatory upgrade, since eBay broke bidding and sniping on Monday. JBidWatcher is a java-based auction site (eBay, etc.) bidding, sniping and auction management tool. Version 0.9 is a highly recommended upgrade, as it fixes a problem synchronizing with 'My eBay', as well as adding several new features, and many UI improvements.

This version has gone nine months without needing a major upgrade and, outside of the current My eBay problem (fixed by 0.9), hasn't needed any upgrade since last Christmas. I'm very proud of this version, and the work and feedback from my users that went into it. Look over the changelog, and you'll see how much went into making this version a really incredible program. There are dozens of huge feature improvements since 0.8, including a whole new search manager, Dutch auction support, massive UI improvements, vastly improved currency support, and in general much better international user support, the internal webserver has been heavily improved, it's faster, a better guest on all platforms, and very, very useful.... read more

It's gone through the wringer, in this version, with six months of pre-releases, getting a lot of great feedback from the community, and a lot of user-oriented improvement. This fixes display issues with Checkout-enabled auctions after auction close, a few stablity issues, and most of the issues with nasty memory utilization over long periods of time with lots of auctions.... read more

During the last month since the prior release, eBay has heavily changed their login process for 'My eBay', and adult auctions. This release especially fixes the login format issues, making synchronizing with My eBay work properly, as well as loading items you're selling, and viewing and bidding on adult items.... read more

The 0.5.1 release is a bugfix for a nasty problem with setting a custom snipe timer. Basically, it didn't work at all through the UI. This is fixed, and a firewall / web proxy configuration screen has been added.... read more

With the 0.5 release, the program is much closer to feature complete, supporting the full range of eBay's online auctions, multiple platforms, synchronization with 'My eBay', a good UI, monitoring of auctions the user is selling in, XML save/load, preservation of deleted auctions, adult auction monitoring, useful information displays, support for pounds, yen, Canadian dollars, DM, and Francs, configurable sniping, adding auctions through drag and drop, private comments on auctions, web-viewable and controllable, supports SOCKS gateways, and many other useful features.... read more

The 0.4 release marks its escape from the pre-alpha space. The program is even more stable, easier to configure, and better documented.

The eBay code also supports eBayMotors and eBay Disney, as well as synchronization with users 'My eBay' pages.

The 0.3.0alpha release adds a lot of stability, a much cleaner save-file format, better use of color to indicate information about bids and auctions, a synchronized time display, a web-management interface, a mascot (Jay Bidwatcher!), per-auction event logging, many UI cleanups and improvements. The program is MUCH faster to start up now, smarter about handling auctions that completed while it was not running, and not losing information about auctions that are deleted off of auction sites.... read more
