When i make JBidwatcher "Show in Browser" an auction, it connects to: http://www.jbidwatcher.com/ebay_aff.php?country=1&item=XXXXXXXXXXXX
which redirects to: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=XXXXXXXXXXXX
Why not going directly to the ebay site? Do they change the Item-location that frequently? Maybe users do not want the JBidtwachter server to know, what they are interested in, so couldn't this be changed?
Last but not least: thanks for the program, it's great!

Greetings,
It should only do that if you had affiliate mode enabled (browse-to went through the affiliate program). Because of the reporting requirements of the affiliate mode, there was no additional information being exposed to me by the browse-through. That said, eBay asserted (reasonably) that sniping programs can't be affiliates, and so I've removed the affiliate mode, and I just direct the page straight to eBay now. I'm in the process of removing the redirection code as well, for a future version.
If you want to disable it from doing that, you should be able to pull up the Configuration Manager, go to the Advanced tab, and enter as the key:
ebay.affiliate
and the value
false
Click Set, and then enter
ebay.affiliate.browse
and give it the value
false
Click Save, and shut down and restart. I'm sorry I removed the checkbox in the General tab, it was supposed to be part of stripping the affiliate code out of the program, but the core part didn't get removed, because I just plain ran out of time to make all the changes. :( Too many people were getting really, really upset that 1.0.2 wasn't done yet...
In any case, the only person who has access to the web logs that show the redirects is me, and the only purpose for them was to redirect through the affiliate hosts, and all that will be gone in the next version.
