False alarm. Getting the cfg file out of my home directory changed
everything. First it opened a dialog that allowed me to specify the
device environment, then I was happy to see that the sequence is now
working, and the metronome no longer hangs...although I can't really
hear the metronome yet. 

Sounds good.

Is the reccord button implemented ?
