I've been using Rosegarden for a while now, a couple of years at 
least.  Version 1.5 is the last I've used heavily.  They're on 
version 1.6.1 now, which fixes a tempo ramping bug I've run into.
It seems quite solid to me.  If you ever get some time, you might 
give it another whirl.
