 I think there is ambiguity as to what 'merging' jars means when
non-trivial manifest files are present but i didn't want to clutter the
page (and am not that clued up on what exactly goes in manifest files
offhand)

My feeling is that merging the jar with others is within the spirit of
the original license as it is only a different packaging method?

Jazzlib is a part of GNU Classpath for which we are looking to clarify
the license text to make these kind of questions easier to answer. Could
you add the above as a proposed FAQ to the licensing wiki?
