These licenses quite sound the same > to me. The switch was done vice versa from LGPL to this license. The main differe= nce is that the license allows static linking. This was needed by the gcj-deve= lopers (the GNU java compiler), which allows to produce static executables. The = change was done, when classpath and gcj merged their code base.
