Work has started on an implementation of a "Persistent XML Infoset". It is roughly the same as "Persistent DOM", except that it takes the XML Infoset recommendation as the basis for its datamodel.

Status is 'research'. Features will include simple transactions and possibly two-phase commit transactions.
