I know, I know... Let's do *something*... First step... I've set up a CVS demo site. Here are the most notable recent changes in JAWmail: - major theme changes. Move as much as possible directly into CSS, much better flexbility with themes - Address Book got thrown out, Address Book 2 is in the works. I'll import it into CVS ASAP, I'm still pondering about a few things. If you have any general Address Book related suggestions, do tell. - Hell, lets use DHTML. I've "redesigned" mailbox/message views with popups, it is much less cluttered. Check it out. - Some configuration should get easily accessible and editable via a web GUI. First step, plugin installation in the admin administration. Just barebones, nothing fancy yet. I have switched to PHP 5 on my development box, and it works. The next release of JAWmail will most definitly work out-of-the box, as in, no more "../../" in prepends, it doesn't matter if you have magic quotes enabled, that stupid dependency to "HCEMD5" got removed (now we use "Crypt_XTEA", which has a nice PEAR package)... It'll most probably be called JAWmail 3.0, because of the brand new AB... For now it's 2.1. My current ideas that *should* get implemented: threaded view (imap_thread()), "realtime" web configuration, obviously, new address book, recheck MIME renderers, fix WAP mode, new default theme (this one lacks contrast)... Wild ideas: virtual folders (save a search as a folder). Really wild non-webmail ideas. Build a seperate distro of this framework. A web forum. I know, I know, but most of the ones I took a look at... Ugh... phpbb2 *cough*. I'm sure that a forum with a proper plugin structure, great themability and secure & fast code would be the bomb. :) I still believe in this project, it is running beautifully on my installations. With the next recent *actually usable release*, I hope that we'll be back on the road. http://cvs.demo.jawmail.org/ U: de...@ja... P: demo (Please don't enable plugins.) If you'd like this exact same code, wait till tommorrow, then download the snap from snaps.jawmail.org. CVS servers at sf.net have to get synchronized. Kind regards, -- Rudi Benkovič ru...@ja... |
