I had this problem initially. I solved it with two steps.
a) I made sure there was a folder created where i would designate saving my sent mail.
b) I made sure I was subscribed to it.
If you are using Cyrus IMAPd, I found one caveat. When you use JAWmail to create top-level folders (those just beneath imaps://imaphost/INBOX) you have to put a '.' in front of the folder name. For example, '.sent' and then hit create.
On the other hand if you create a subfolder of say '.sent' do NOT put the '.' in front. I'm not sure if I'm just making it difficult on myself, but that's what I found.
Regardless, after you have created and subscribed to a folder, for example '.sent', then go to the preferences page, Mailboxes, and select '.sent' as you Sent folder.
Hope this helps.

I installed jawmail and it is up and running nicely except when I try to send a message I get the following error message.
Array ( [0] => Invalid mailbox name [1] => Cannot subscribe to this folder. [2] => Invalid mailbox ) 1
any help would be nice thanks.
I get the same error message, but the message was sent.
Is it by chance attempting to move a copy of the sent message into a folder that doesn't exist (and thus, creating the error)?
Verwendet ihr CYRUS als ImapD? Dann schlage ich euch vor "INBOX." statt "INBOX" als Prefix in der Config zu benutzen. Dann sollte es klappen.
