We are an ISV in Japan. We have your following Windows Azure SDK for
Java library, which can be downloaded from the
following URL link, packaged in the distribution of our commercial
software product.
When we unzipped and scrutinized the aforementioned library in order to
ensure that there is no possible license risks caused by incorporating
it to part of our application, we became aware that there is the
following component included.
sqljdbc_auth.dll
We apparently have to decouple this component from the jar as its
license does not seem to allow for redistribution.
Fortunately, no part of our application seem to depend on it and we can
probably just remove it from the jar.
However, removing the sqljdbc_auth.dll from the jar file may be
considered distribution of the derivative of your work, and as such we
have determined to include "NOTICE" text as an addendum to the original
text as instructed in Apache License, Version 2.0, Section 4.4
We would like to make sure that including the "NOTICE" regards to the
removal of the sqljdbc_auth.dll suffice for our redistribution.
If you have any concerns that we should be aware of or any other
suggestion you may have, we will very much appreciate.
Thank you for your kind attention,
Haruhiko Nishi
