(You are receiving this email because you are a subscriber to the "javascore- developer " mailing list. To unsubscribe, go to: gromurph.org/javascore and click on "Mailing List" on the left) Dear Javascore Developer : Version 5.1 is now out the door. Fixes several bugs, including bugs in Snipe and Iceboat scoring, support olympic-path medal race scoring (ability to "weight" races and ability to flag a race as non-discardable). Also improvements and bug fixes to splitting large classes into multiple sub-divisions for qualifying series. This release requires use of Java version 5. If you don't have Java 5 yet, click on the "get Java" logo on the left for Windows and Linux. For Macintoshes go to: <http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/java/> http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/java/. For developers, up-to-date source code has been posted to the CVS repository on the sourceforge site, AND is available as a single "jar" file download from the javascore sourceforge project page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/javascore/ I've done some reorganizing of the src code in CVS as a result it looks at first glance like a mess. BUT fear not, its not as bad as it seems - I consolidated the various modules into a single new module: version5 - ignore all the other modules, they should all be empty anyway. I will also be migrating the source code over to SubVersion sometime this summer. Hopefully that will result in a cleaner appearing project tree. |

I've finished releasing JavaScore 2.1 This is the first of either 2 or 3 releases culminating with version 3.0 in March which will support Fleets and Sub-fleets. The main incentive for posting this release is that Javascore now supports multiple languages (that's spoken languages, like French, Spanish - not computer languages). It will recognize regional factors set within your computer and adjust dates and numbers accordingly. If you have installed a new language pack, you can also have the Javascore labels and messages show up in a different language. Now, I only know English (or more precisely, American) so there are no new language packs - yet. Those of you who have volunteered over the last year or two to translate, let me know (and/or see the web page for directions). The rest of you, I'll let you know as language packs become available. The release and documentation and source code as always is available at: www.gromurph.org/javascore Please let me know if you have any problems. Especially check out the Whats New to see what is new and what I hope to add over the next two months (ie before the sailing season arrives). Enjoy, Sandy Grosvenor |
