    Hello,
It seems like a rather odd problem but here it is. I was trying to use my online banking and realized that Safari was crashing when trying to verify my electronic signature. This is done by Java applet. I can not recall if it java was ever working but something is telling me that it was. I bought the computer this summer. :) I tried the same with the same result in Camino 1.0.3 and then in freshly downloaded Firefox 2.0.0.1. I started to fiddle around. I found that I have version 0.9.5+? of javaplugin. I removed it and installed fresh 0.9.6 . I'm running the latest MacOS 10.4 on PowerPPC. I believe it is 10.4.8. In the process I have also installed latest Java from Apple which is 1.5.0_05 . I've just realized that it is Developer Preview, oh well.
Camino was crashing even when I was accessing about:plugins page. When I remove javaplugin about:plugins works but as expected I can use only java 1.3 for applets.
Is there any other info that I should gather like console log ?
    Thank you,
    Radek

Since you also crash in Safari, your problem (whatever it is) has
nothing to do with the Java Embedding Plugin.

It also sounds like it's quite a serious problem -- your Java
subsystem has gotten corrupted, and maybe other things as well.

You may have to do a clean install of the OS on a fresh partition.
But before that I suggest trying to rebuild your LaunchServices
database, according to the instructions at
      http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20031215144430486.

Be aware that you should use the suggested command exactly as it's
given -- getting it wrong can (I think) make your current partition
unbootable.  But I've used it myself a number of times without issues.
And I've heard of someone who used it to fix serious Java problems.

      Hello,
I've finally solved the issue. It was indeed my fault. I need Java Image IO libraries for compiling geoserver and I copied them inside the Java framework ...
After deleting them everything works as it should.
      Thank you,
      Radovan
