I need far more information than you've provided (I've no idea what
"popcap games" is, for example).
Please provide URLs for pages that you're having problems with.
Please also let me know what browser you're using (and what version).
And check to be sure that the page(s) you're trying to load even
contain applets. The "Debugging and Troubleshooting" section of the
Java Embedding Plugin's Readme.txt tells you how to do this. (The
Readme is available in the distribution you downloaded and at http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/Readme.html#h-VI\)

I've now found http://www.popcap.com/ and looked further into this, by
testing the eight free "Web Games". Three of them use Java (Bookworm,
Rocket Mania and Big Money). The others don't (instead they use some
kind of proprietary plugin that I didn't test). The three games that
use Java work just fine. The others have problems. Those problems
have nothing to do with Java or the Java Embedding Plugin.
Tested on Mac OS X 10.2.8 with Java 1.4.1 and OS X 10.3.6 with Java
1.4.2 Update 2. My browser was Mozilla 1.7.3.
By also testing on Windows, I found that when you click "Click to
Play" for the non-Java games, a window pops up that tells you how to
download and install the proprietary plugin. On the Mac the same
window pops up, but the part of the popup window that should contain
instructions for the proprietary plugin is just blank. I assume this
is because the plugin only works on Windows and/or that the Popcap
server doesn't recognize the OS X environment as one that it supports.

I followed the instructions (I think) and now no applets load (for example, popcap games).
