Versions of the Java Embedding Plugin prior to
0.9.1 didn't work on OS X Tiger (10.4.X). But
0.9.2 should work.
What do you mean by "netscape"? If you mean
Netscape 7.02, that doesn't (and never will) work
with any version of the Java Embedding Plugin --
that version of Netscape is simply too old. But I
hear that Netscape 7.2 works fine.
On general principles you should upgrade to the
latest version -- I think it's best to download
the 0.9.4+a "nightly". If you still have
problems, please tell me _precisely_ what they
are, and _exactly_ which versions of which
browsers you have trouble with.
(It's possible that you'd be able to resolve your
problem by once again doing "touch
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/MRJPlugin.plugin" at a
Terminal prompt, as per the Readme file's
instructions -- Apple has recently updated Java
Applet.plugin and Java Applet Plugin Enabler on OS
X 10.4.X (and 10.3.X). But the newest JEP's
MRJPlugin.plugin already has a date later than the
latest versions of these two "bundles".)
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Hi
I have installed the JEP 0.9.2 on mac osx 10.3, and was correctly recognized by Netscape and Firefox.
Today I have updated the OS X to 10.4 and netscape no longer recognizes the JEP and cannot use the latest JRE.
Is this a known problem? Is it addressed in later versions of JEP ?
Thanks

You are absolutely right, touching the files fixed the problem. I am using all the latest versions (of browsers) available for mac os x.
Thanks for the help.
