I have just created a number of useful mailing lists.
I have created the IRC channel #JavaPIM on irc.freenode.net. Please feel free to join this channel if you have any questions/comments about JavaPIM.
I am there most business days M - F under the name Flossy.
I will soon start schema first development. I am trying to finish up some things under the JPlate project with Ant and schemas. This project will no longet be heavily J2EE related. It may use J2EE but it is slowly going to blossom into a ESB/SOA project.
I was spending way too much time hand-coding what I
consider to be boilerplate code. So, I have been spending all my time building my other open source project JPlate. I still have all the code I wrote for JavaPIM, but will be re-engineering using JPlate.
I will be placing all "core" architecture in JPlate and reusing for JavaPIM - persistence, data transfer objects, etc. Specifically, all the reusable functionality will go to JPlate, the specifics for JavaPIM will, of course, be placed here.... read more
I am in the process of formalizing the ant build scripts. I have a number of classes written (approximately 50%) as well as a chunk of the core infrastructure. I need to fix some of the PostgreSQL store procedures written. I hope to release within the next week. Please note that his release will not have an GUI work, nor will it be all the classes needed. You will be able to store personal information (such as addresses, phone numbers, etc). However, I will need to work on this project's home page as well as return to my other open source project JPlate. It has become painfully obvious to me that I need to complete (at least) an initial release of JPlate as I need some of the functionality that it will provide. Using JPlate will render some of the code here nil and void - so don't get too attached ;-)
