Java MP4Box GUI
- Created and compiled in Java 1.7!
- If you have Java 1.6, then it's time to update sheeple!
- Will not run in Java 6 aka 1.6!!!
- Works fine in OpenJDK as far as I have seen (version 7 here also).
- Linux & VNC makes the Drag & Drop feature do strange things. You might have to restart the app a couple of times before it works, if at all!
Application paths (MP4Box & HandBrake)
-
Tested in Windows 7 and XP
- Use the version of both applications that matches the OS (64bit on 64bit etc), and then it should "just work"!
- In 64-bit Windows, the %ProgramFiles% env variable goes to the x86 folder!
-
Tested in Linux (Ubuntu 13.04 distros)
- Both HandBrake and MP4Box should have their binaries located in "/usr/bin" by default. But this could not hold true for other *nix based OS's.
-
Tested in Mac OSX 10.8 VM
- The applications should both be installed into the Applications folder ("/Applications/")
Application binaries (MP4Box & HandBrake)
- Works equally on all operating systems!
Configuration
- settings.conf and language.conf are both created on first start. They will however not be updated if something is missing within the files etc. Simply delete/rename the conf files, and new default ones will be created!
- There are settings that can be edited in the settings.conf that are not configurable in the GUI.
- Examples are: Logging, Filetype Warning message (VideoFileTypeWarning), Default video file output name (VideoFileName), Default video transcoding folder (VideoTranscodingDestinationFolder)...
- Settings that ends with "DefaultSelection=1" are mostly defining what radio button (the round ones where only one can be selected) is selected as default. The number at the end can be changed, 1 is the first choice etc.
