No

I recently installed the Java hex Editor Eclipse Plugin (Feature version 0.4.9) in Eclipse Mars (J2EE-Edition; Java 1.8.0_45; Win7; x64). When I open a file in the Hex-Editor with the "Open with Hex-Editor" context menu Option I can't scroll down neither using the mouse (scrollbar) nor the Keyboard (Page-Down-Key, Arrow-Down-Key).

Yes, quite so. Unresponsive. At least the close button works.
    (0.4.9, Mars, J2SE 1.8.0_45, Vista x64)

Just in case someone wants to use this plugin with Eclipse 4.x: I've cloned the repo to github and fixed few obvious issues with the plugin, including this one.

I plan to release it on github, because I think the sourceforge is unusable for any serious development and it is too sad to have such a nice editor broken.

Verified that scrolling is working now with Eclipse 4.5.2 (Mars). Thanks!

I've updated the information (logo, screenshots, latest version from Andrey etc.) at marketplace:
    https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/java-hex-editor

I can give you editor rights to this marketplace entry or just give me information if something should be changed etc...

Thanks again to revive Java Hex Editor for Eclipse 4.x!

Andre, I wonder what is the state of this project - are the maintainers all gone?

Regarding marketplace: you can add additional user under to manage the listing if you "edit" the entry, this way I could update the version if needed. Just type in my name, it is unique on marketplace :-)

I honestly just wanted to have some hex editor that works inside Eclipse, and I don't care about all the standalone things around. Ideally I would just throw away all this. Any objections?

Andrey, i've added you as additional editor to this marketplace entry -> do not hesitate to modify :)

I've used EHEP and Java Hex Editor for long time in Eclipse for tasks like viewing, searching and simple modification of binary files. My colleagues are using it in Eclipse and more feature richer native Windows Hex-Editors too. So we are not using the standalone version... For us one stable Eclipse version would be enough.

I was always interested and have improved only the Eclipse plugin version last time in 2009 with update site, content types, search and replace, selection dialog, status line etc.

pestatije is the originator and Peter Dell improved the last versions over the years. So for me pestatije and peterdell are the maintainers :)

I will support you to improve it as user (issues and enhancements) and may be for small contributions :)

    Hi guys,
I've merged Andrey's changes to the new Git repository and test "Open With / Hex Editor" in Eclipse Oxyen. Works here, hence I close the bug report.
