I was a long user of DC++ on Windows. When I tried to find a DC client for Linux there was only a few and those was not good or easy to install.
I wanted to try to make a DC client in Java when I found JavaDC. I tried JavaDC but found it seriously lacking. I then learned about JavaDC2 and JavaDC3. I downloaded JavaDC3 og tried it out, and I found it promising, but lacking a few things in functions and design(GUI).
Is this(JavaDC3) built upon JavaDC? Is there an open DC protocol you are using to connect to DC hubs? "If" I decide to make my own Java DC client, what do I need? Maybe I can, if this project is still going, help out in some areas. I am very interessting in having a capable Java DC client in the same way Azureus is a good Java BitTorrent client.
