The k5n CalendarPanel Java Swing component has been updated as part of the JavaCalTools 0.4.6 release. This update changes the way mouse-over event info tooltips are rendered. Rather than using Swing's built-in JToolTip, event details are rendered with a more polished custom method.

The 0.9.7 version of the k5n Desktop Calendar (k5nCal) includes the latest Java Calendar Tools as an important component. k5nCal's latest version adds support for subscribing and publishing remote iCalendar files and makes use of JavaCalTools to parse and build iCalendar data.

Version 0.4.4 of Java Calendar Tools is now available. This release adds additional functionality to support RFC 2445. More details can be found at the Java Calendar Tools home page:

Version 0.2.4 of Java Calendar Tools is now available. This release supports more of the iCalendar (RFC 2445) standard, including the VJOURNAL object used in the new sample application, k5njournal.

The k5njournal application (bundled with this release) provides a Java Swing-based diary application that stores entries as VJOURNAL objects in iCalendar format.

Version 0.1.0 of the Java Calendar Tools is now availabl. This is an early release that focuses mainly on iCal parsing (and is missing much of the planned functionality.)

The project is now underway to develop a Java-based iCal toolset.

First on the list is to build a robust iCal (RFC 2445) parser. Design and prototyping has begun, and some alpha code should be available in the coming weeks.
