The JavaBluetooth Stack currently only supports adapters which follow the H4 (HCI over UART) standard.
Many CSR-based adapters are shipped using the proprietary BCSP protocol, but may be changed to H4 by editing keys in the "persistent store" (PS) that stores the configuration parameters.
CSR provides a Windows tool called "PS Tool" to alter the PS keys. When editing keys, be sure to edit all keys before resetting the chip. A reset on a partial reconfiguration may leave the chip unusable. For the same reason, a power loss during reconfiguration may leave your chip unusable. So be careful.
This thread should be used to discuss which adapters require switching and which don't. As well as to address specifics related to switching between BCSP to H4.
Take Care,
Chris

We orderered a TDK PCMCIA card to play with which is based on the CSR 2 chip. Is there any way to find information on switching it to H4? I cannot get info from the CSR site since I am no registered customer..

If I understand from the CSR web sites, the PS Tools is not free, it is a part of the BlueSuite which is not free...
So how can we do if we can't afford that?
