    Hi,

I'm starting this thread as a place for people to record any configurations that they have been successful with.  Can anybody recommend USB Bluetooth adapters for J2SE applications runing on RedHat 9 and Win2K?

    Thanks,
    Curt

The Brainboxes BL-510 RS232 Bluetooth Adapter, attaches directly to the serial port of your PC and be addressed via javax.comm without any problems.

Some versions are shipped using the BCSP protocol and need to be switched to the H4 protocol in order to work with the JavaBluetooth Stack. For a discussion on switching BSCP to H4 please see the Help Forum.

      Hi,

I have a BT serial dongle called
free2movie which I can connect to COM port, do you think your stack will support it?

BTW, I have also an Anycom BT PC card, but I don't know how to initiate it with your stack since I am not sure which com port it maps to in windows.

Do you have idea how to setup PC card under windows?

      Thanks and eager for reply

      /B.C.

The free2move looks like a BT cable replacement solution. These can't be address by a software stack.

As for the Anycom, try right-clicking on my Computer. Goto the Device Manager. Look under Ports. If it's not there try uninstalling the Card and installing it with the driver for the standard Communication Port.

BTW, just getting the port to open is not enough. I'm not sure what chip and HCI Transport the Anycom uses so it may be BCSP based. It needs to be H4/UART.

Let me know how it goes.

      Chris
