A two's compliment calculator designed for specifically for Java, but is still effective for just about any other language. It will accept two integer values and will show the binary, octal, and hexadecimal equivalence, and show how the bits interact with the logical operators not, and, or, and xor, and how primitive types are cast into other types. If there is a feature that you would like to see, let me know and I will see what I can do. I am working on a major update to how the interface works.

Features

  • Bit by bit calculation for ~, +, -, &, | , and ^.
  • Shows the cast of a long to the other integer types as well as float and double.
  • Binary, octal, and hexadecimal equivalence grouped for easy reading.
  • Shows the step by step process of exchanging two values using xor.

User Reviews

  • This is the programmer of the project. I'm currently learning JavaFX and looking to redesign the interface and improve the functionality. I already have a few ideas. If you download this calculator, please leave a review and let me know if it helped you any. I want to do more projects like this, but without user input, I feel like I'm just feeling my way through this. Negative comments are also appreciated as long as they are honest and respectful. But, also please how submit how you think it could be improved. Suggestions and improvements are always welcome. I am also working on a book in Java programming, which this project is stemming from, and if it is ever actually published, your suggestion could have your name published. I don't steal ideas and I give credit where credit is due. I hope you enjoy the calculator! Tom PS I only gave myself four stars because I haven't completed this project yet.
