[Java-player-developers] interfaces and indexes

I've noticed that all the requestInterfaceX() methods expect "int
index" as the first argument, but it is never used and just adds to
the confusion when users look for explanation about its value.
What was the original need for this argument?
If the is no need anymore, can it be removed?
