For the second question: There are some listeners in the package "net.sf.jml.event", I think it will be helpful to you.
And the last question: the offline message is introduced in MSN13, but the JML1.0b3 only supports MSNP8-MSNP12. Maybe you can find answer in the next version.

Well, is it possible to set or get the message font size?
For the connection problem, do you mean use the exception caught event handler to get ride of it?
If so, I found that the return throwable object is always null.
So, I get nothing on it.
