I can't seem to be able to get the contact to show as ONLINE after being added as a friend. Sometimes it does others it does not.
I have seen quite a few messages with regards to this issue but no definitive answer.
Could anyone shed any more light?.
If not, I'm thinking that perhaps we could look at the user by the status of the switchboard?, perhaps sending empty messages (to try avoiding opening the msn window on the otherside but seeing if it produced an error while doing so)?
Any thoughts are greatly welcomed.
Best regards
Alex

Sometimes when adding a contact before we receive a event confirming successful adding an event with the status is received.
But if you get the MsnUserStatus from the newly created MsnContact it is the right one.
Hope it helps

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly it does not solve the problem we are facing :(
The only way in which we are getting status messages is after login in to the MSN through the MS client (ie Windows Live) and actually adding the contact that way. After we do that, then the contact is permanently added to the contact list and we get notiffications on status (ONLINE - OFFLINE , etc)
It has to be a common problem on the JML users.
Has anybody managed to work around it?
Regards
Alex
