If anyone actually *uses* the subject method, please see:

That is at the moment the only thing blocking us from moving all the
org.gnu.glib code out of libgtk-java and into our glib-java common base
library, which is summarized in
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337451 ; anyone with a notion
of any other issues which might block this move please file them ASAP
and mark them against 337451.
