Here are my suggestions. 1) Take the time to think about what you enjoy. Contrary to what many believe it is work to join a project and stay with it to the point where you are a good contributor. Please look at several projects and select the one that you think you can stick with. 2) Once you have selected the project you wish to join I would suggest getting started by submitting patches to the project via the list. This gives you a chance to get to know the project before you make the commitment to the team members. 3) Once you are really sure you wish to joing a project announce this to the team. Ask the team on a good approach to get started on the project and where your skills can help the most. Know that initially you my be asked to perform some of the grunt work like updating documentation, updating example programs, etc. until you are able to prove yourself. -Jeff > Hi, > I'm sorry but I've not read your email.
