Java-gnome does build and run perfectly with free tools. The only tools I know of which don't work with java-gnome are sablevm (not enough jni support). Getting the latest releases of compilers/VMs is always a good idea though. I don't think anybody has tried on windows, but it should be possible -- could you try for us perhaps? We would be very interested in seeing the results. I know a lot of people are interested to see java-gnome in windows. -- .''`.
