You can go to this page: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33393 and grab the attachment which contains the ebuild file. Place this file in /usr/portage/dev-java/java-gnome and run "emerge -up java-gnome". You should see that java-gnome has version 0.8.1. If so, run "emerge -u java-gnome" to get the latest version. The next time you "emerge sync" this file will be deleted. If you wish to keep this file past syncs you will need to edit your make.conf file to setup /usr/local/portage tree as a dev environment.
