I agree completely. 
The only reason I haven't made this change is that I feel there are also
many other changes needed in UIInfo to allow access to other
functionality. I posted a message here about this and later copied it to
a bug report on sourceforge asking for opinions about how UIInfo should
be structured. Please could you read this and add your opinions as
comments to the bug report.
