Hi,
  A lot of work has been done on the makefiles since 0.8 release - these
should be in 0.8.1 release which will happen sometime soon. I haven't
been working on this myself, so don't know whether your changes have
already been made - hopefully somebody who has been following this work
will reply when they get time.
