That is one way to look at it.  Another view is that there will be 
more applications developed using SWT that will target Win32.  With
this approach, all of those applications will immediately run on
GTK platforms.

There are already discussions going on about providing a GUI
builder for SWT that uses XML formats.  If SWT becomes as popular
as I think it might there will be several GUI builders available.
Again, we would be able to leverage the work done by IBM and others.

This is an issue.  SWT does cause the developer to clean up some
of their own resources.  I don't see this changing anytime soon.
