I have something in cvs now that I think works.  I would
appreciate it if several people that have access to
different jvm on different platforms (you know who
you are!) could please give this a try before I
create a new set of rpms.

I'll include my reply below: 

I am having difficulty writing a rule that will 
work for all JVMs.  My previous understanding 
of the include directories was that any JVM 
prior to version 1.3 needed the os specific 
directory but newer JVMs didn't.  This is the 
rule that is in my configure.in script.  IBM's 
1.3 follows this rule but Sun's 1.3.1 doesn't 
Has anybody ran into this before and can anybody 
suggest a better solution?
