[Java-gnome-developer] Gnome Panel Applet Support?

Hello.  I'm new to the list and in fact new to Java Gnome.  I found
the project last week and have been really enjoying working with it.
While poking through the Javadocs and sample code on the project home
page I could not find and pointers to developing Gnome Panel Applets.
My question is two-fold:
1.  Is there support for Panel Applets?
2.  Is there any sample code out there for this?
