well,

assuming the package messing (previous email) solved the problem, i 
guess i just removed the whole directory just to be sure that it is 
going to be a clean compilation.

it was because after number of recompilations and reconfigurations, i 
got first the error with somedir/somefilename_GtkAboutDialog.h (java 
exception was thrown), and then some Plumbing.c compilation error. that 
were the reasons forcing me to have a rather clean stuff to mess with - 
luckily java-gnome is not a mammoth in occupied space ;)
