[java-gnome-hackers] new team member

Hi team,

As I am new developper willing to contribute to the java-gnome project, 
I would like to introduce my self.
My name is Eric Le Goff, I am a 35 y.o java developper working for a 
financial company, west of France.

My skills are around Java/J2EE and related technologies. I have no 
experience in opensource application, and my membership in sourceforge 
was only three weeks ago.
As a linux user (redhat 7.3) I was thinking that java-gnome bindings 
would be a nice start.

At first, I would like to contribute with some easy things ,like  
translating docs like FAQ, tutorial , HTML ... into my native language 
i.e french
This will I think give me the big picture of the project. Later I will 
probably feel more comfortable to send patches, unit tests or whatever 
will be needed.
Meanwhile I will check the mailing lists to see what you guys have in 
mind ;)

If you are interested in working with java code, there is certainly
quite a bit that needs to be done at the moment. This does require
running the very latest developmental version of gnome though; and
looking into the depths of the gnome/gtk source code.

That would be really useful. Please send a message to
jav...@li... stating your intentions - there are
quite a few ppl working on various translations at the moment. 
If you know cvs, you will find sgml (docbook xml) sources for the
documents. Otherwise, let us know and we'll give you a direct link to
them, 

(hmmm - We could do with keeping track of who these translators are,
which languages and translation status. Perhaps we should have a page on
the website giving details of java-gnome team members and what they do)

This would be great. Maybe, at this point, I could look into mantaining
the site even if I'm not a webmaster. However adding such a page or
keeping the news page updated shouldn't be too hard.
Mark, a page with java-gnome memebers' details will be very useful.
Also we should keep track on translations (site translation and docs
translation), like many projects I've seen do.(With a nice web
interface...)
Eventually I could even write the Italian one, in the future ;)
