Yes. Anyone with Ubuntu can use the Bazaar PPA to get the current
release, which is 1.11 with this apt line:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/bzr/ubuntu/ intrepid main
I do not understand why Canonical does not publish the current Bazaar in
the current Ubuntu.
There are dramatic improvements available in 1.6 and again in 1.9-1.11,
so you're far better off using the latest release of something like
this. People running Ubuntu should use Bazaar from the PPA.
Indeed, with that, Ubuntu people have 1.11, and Gentoo people of course
have 1.11 available. Pretty soon we'll be able to upgrade the public
branch to at format=1.9

FYI, one can always create a branch in an older format if you have a
newer client available. Serkan or anyone else could have done this if
they'd known.
