Currently there is no support for gnome applets in java-gnome.
This shouldn't be hard to implement but currently we are working
toward a new release later this week and shouldn't be adding
new features until the release is finished.  Please go to the 
project page and submit a RFE for this feature.

I've look into this in the past and it should be fairly straight
forward.  Perhaps we can work on this together after the release.

If you had time, you could work on this feature in a different branch 
than the to-be-released version. But it's fine if you prefer to 
concentrate on bug fixing first!
