Hello Java-GTK Team!
I'm very new at this newsgroup as you might know...
Please answer me some newbie-question:
1. I like the Java-coding very much. Its very easy to use (thanks for no
pointers - sun!) und you're very produktive.
But I dont like the long startup-time and the very fading-feeling of swing.
And AWT looks very awful on some platforms (like Unix-Motif ;-( ).
So would it be possible to use java-gtk with gjc. gjc is a real
java-compilier which creates native-code (with garbage-collector!). But
gcj currently doesnt support nore Swing neither (ok a very little bit)
AWT. I know that qt-java is currently the only widget-set which is
known to work with gcj, but I dont want to use QT because its not free
and its soo fat (is this word also avaible in English?).
So is or would it be possible and if not, how much work would it need to
write such a port?
(Maybe I could help, but my java-knowledge is very small and bad)...
Thx for your help Linuxhippy
