[Java-gnome-developer] Custom layout management?

Could someone point me to some code samples of custom layout management (i.e.
overriding the base behavior of let's say VBox to do your own layout)? I
presume it can be done, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Sorry for the bump, but I would really like to have a shot at this (i.e.
implementing my own custom layout manager), but so far I don't have an idea
as to how to intercept the GTK+ layout management logic and override it with
my own....
