I&#180;ve seen the cvs tarball and it seems that the INSTALL file is
missing.

It's been moved to the 'common' directory. The build/maketarballs.sh
file will copy it to each tarball when it creates them.

So, which is the right command to generate configure actually?
 build/maketarballs? I've wrote down a very simple autogen.sh script
which runs, in turn, ./genConf, ./genMake, autoconf and then complains
if an auttoconf version < 2.58 is found. Could it be of use or you are
creating the make tarballs script to include something like this?

I think documenting ./genConf.. && ./genM.. && autoconf should be
sufficient for now.

build/maketarballs.sh does do this automatically so that tarballs have
configure scripts in them.
